“Backstage at the Altuzarra spring/summer 2017 show this afternoon, the makeup artist Tom Pecheux was his usual chic, irreverent self. Smiling, he described the beautifully dewy look he created as “sweaty, sexy, naughty,” with a bit of a wink to reporters. The effect, he explained, picked up on the energetic, playful vibes of Joseph Altuzarra’s collection and channels the women who emerge from a pool or shower and “throw on their clothes and they just go.” For the high-shine look, he swept Butter Elixir botanical oil over the skin, patted on creamy foundation, and dusted MAC Mineralize SkinFinish in Perfectly Lit across the upper cheeks and nose in a wavelike formation for a natural glow. On the eyes, Pecheux applied black eyeliner smudged in with MAC Neon Studio Eye Gloss, a fleshy tone that warms up the black eyeliner so “it’s not so aggressive” and doesn’t look too pristine (“perfection is boring,” he said, with Parisian insouciance).
